How to Apply

To be considered for the program, you must meet the eligibility requirements and complete all parts of the application, as described below. If you have additional questions about the application process, please contact our office.

You must apply through our online application process. When applying, you will be asked to:

1. Complete and submit your online application. This includes uploading your unofficial academic transcripts, your personal statement, your curriculum vitae, and proof of U.S. permanent residency (if not a U.S. citizen) or Costa Rican citizenship (if applying through the FUNIN-NCI Partnership). You may complete the application at your own pace and in multiple sessions.
2. Request four current and original letters of reference.
3. Request a letter assuring that all degree requirements will be completed by June (this is called a letter of assurance and is required from doctoral degree candidates only).

All supporting documentation requests and document uploads must be made through your application account. More details will be given once you begin your application.

You will be notified by e-mail when supporting documentation is submitted. Additionally, you may log into your application account to see the status of your supporting documentation. It is your responsibility to ensure that we receive your supporting documentation on or before Monday, August 11, 2023 by 11:59 PM, (U.S. Eastern Daylight Time).
